Finally caught up on the weekly anime with love is war. I keep saving that for last when the weekend chunk of anime hits. The latest episode has me thinking about the big weakness of school anime compared to other similar types of anime in different settings. Highschool is only 3 years long (in japan). If you want to make use of the setting and have different events for the characters to interact with, you can't help but progressing the timetable of the show.

You can never have 4 xmas episodes of a highschool anime. You put the same type of cast in a workplace setting and it could go forever and fantasy can fit 50 festivals in one year if they want to since it's all made up anyway.

I always end up feeling kind of sad whenever these seasonal events come up in the shows, knowing that the end of these characters fun times together are coming to a close, and probably sooner than later.

It actually makes me think of the end of welcome to the nhk. The most down to earth ending that show could have possibly had, but that also made it really depressing. I should rewatch that at some point. That show could have been about me if I'd been healthier.
