A lot of you might not know this, but forced sterilization is legal at the federal level in the USA. Women are very often denied sterilization in the USA if they want it, usually with the argument that "a man might not like that you have been sterilized," but you can in fact force sterilization on people without facing penalties, so long as the person is... "unfit." Why?
