Basically, a lot of companies are investing in web 3.0. Web 1.0 was crap like America Online, Geocites, etc. Web 2.0 was stuff like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Web 3.0 is supposedly the next evolution of the internet. Some people think web 3.0 and the metaverse are just buzzwords, but you got companies like Disney and Facebook/Meta investing millions if not billions of dollars into this. Google is also working on version 2.0 of its Google Glass, and Apple is rumored to be working on AR glasses to replace the iPhone as well. It can get quite complex, so if you're really interested, you can check out some videos/articles about web 3.0. NFTs are just a part of web 3.0. They are not the entirety of web 3.0. No one knows for sure if and when web 3.0 will arrive, but some people are predicting in about 3-10 years. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
