I wanted to give it some credit for at least attempting to do something interesting with Lucia and her personal identity. It's just too bad everyone in this game is voice acted with the enthusiasm of a cardboard cutout, and on top of that, the plain ol' pacing of the story just feels weird too. The villains have absolutely vapid personalities compared to the original and there's no sense of style or urgency or any sort of world building or horror theming - absolutely nothing here. Its place in the series must also be taken into account - DMC2 is barely referenced in the main series and its plot is pretty much a straight rehash of the original game too. It's so disappointing to see no Trish in the story or any further developing of Dante's character. A swing-and-a-miss on more counts than one.
