Doesn't seem worth it to me. You're taking a serious risk ***** with something that doesn't necessarily need to be addressed

Well, it needs to be addressed in some way, even if that way is to get glasses or contacts. Either way you're still compensating for the problem by outside means.

And there are plenty of cosmetic or minor surgeries that carry complications of further damage, significant side-effects, or even potentially death. Almost every facet of modern medicine is built around the idea of figuring out just how likely those potential consequences actually are, and then deciding for yourself whether or not the risks are worth the potential quality of life you may gain.

People have died from knee surgeries. And one could always argue that those are completely unnecessary because people with bad knees can just hobble around with a cane (or a walker, or a wheelchair). But most people would say that the benefits of working knees outweigh the risks of fixing them.

People have had stomach staplings. Hair transplants. Facelifts. All of those carry risks of difigurement or death. And yet there will always be people who consider the cosmetic improvement worth the risk. Even if you don't agree, others will.
