Want to appeal to 90% of the voting population? Drop the dogmatic and pointless "wedge issues" and focus on the things that matter. There was no problem with the state of abortions, so why dredge it up? To placate a base of people that were already going to vote for you? It's absolute lunacy how people are spending so much time/energy on a resolved issue instead of focusing that effort on real problems, like the collapsing economy, the runaway inflation, the astronomical crime rates and the complete lack of any kind of law enforcement.

I mean, it's kind of being forced by the fact that the Supreme Court is about to overturn Roe v. Wade, and like 20 states or something have trigger laws to immediately ban abortion in most/all cases. The ones "dredging it up" have been Republicans who have spent the past 50 years trying to achieve exactly this.
