NATO and Europe's dependence on the USA, never stronger. It was a foreign policy strategy. The analysts at State knew if they waited long enough Putin wouldn't be able to help himself. And this would be the result. Finland and Sweden will get in immediately though, because they are valuable assets that haven't ever been interested.
