I need to update this more frequently!

36. Beat a game that's been in your backlog for a long time
Sonic Colours

Is a year a long time? I bought this on Wii when the remaster was announced but only just got around to it. Glad I didn't bother with the new one, the art, music and premise are good but there's not enough basic Sonic platforming here for me. Too many slowdown filler levels. Not a bad game though.

13. Beat a game made by an indie developer
Tunic

I expected a cutesy Zelda-like, what I got was a pretty difficult and wonderful experience of discovery that had me feeling the same way I did playing Outer Wilds. Everything this game is trying to do appeals to a different part of me, and it does a great job at most of it. Don't sleep on this!!

35. Beat a game with a lead from a fictional species
Bugsnax, Talkin' Bout

A fun time. Didn't expect such neat characterisation.

27. Beat a game with mystery as a central theme
Telling Lies

Telling Lies. If you've played Her Story this plays in a similar format (same developer). I liked it but it's not as good as Her Story, mainly because there's more mystery in HS you need to figure out yourself. Perfect kind of game to put on Game Pass though, I'd recommend checking it out (plus it's short).
Thanks for this rec! I haven't played Her Story but this was an enjoyable unique experience, not perfect but definitely worth a play. I don't get why they shoved the whole thing into such a short timespan though, it stretched credulity somewhat >_> I hope Her Story gets released on consoles at some point so I can try that!
