I finally made my way off Zeffo, after taking out an
AT-ST first.
I might be calling this a little early but...I'm not sure this is a good game. There's a certain jank to the experience that's very offputting.
- Combat so far has been unsatisfying; I cannot get a good feel for the parry timing.
- The platforming can be frustrating. I was trying to make a jump onto a rope and failed multiple times because I felt the game was asking for more precision than I had. Give me a bit of "auto aim" with that! There was another part, during a sliding section, where I had to jump and then use an updraft to land on a higher section of track. I had to do this a half dozen times before the game decided to land me on the track, rather than short or on the track but then slide me backwards.
- I've run into some bugs as well. One time I just fell right through the floor of the ship. During one of the ball puzzles, you're supposed to turn on/off the wind to move it. Well I did something just wrong that caused the ball to enter a dead zone, forcing me to have to restart from a checkpoint.
I'm going to continue playing in the hopes it improves as I get more powers and more familiarity. But I'm going to try real hard to fight my natural instinct and keep on the critical path.
