In regards to both sides being actors. I wonder if the fact that Depp is an actor played a factor in deciding not to let him read out his own texts earlier in the trial. He is literally a professional at reading lines out loud so there's a risk he'll read them in a way that both sounds natural and favourable to himself.

I imagine non-actors would try to do the same thing though, right? Seems like a good policy not to let them read their own texts.
