Again, I shouldn't even speak for them since I know so little myself. But if you're a minority of anything, it would be much better for a community to understand you. I don't even know how this is hard to grasp?

Acceptance at all levels comes with understanding. Without acceptance, there is a possibility of conflict and strife.

Also, minority groups should aim for higher than reluctant acceptance. A better understanding can lead to genuine embracement and affection. Tolerance is a bit of an ugly word to me, it implies someone is just putting up with something while still resenting it deep down, like a redneck over the subject of gay people. "I won't beat 'em up anymore but I ain't gonna be friends with one!"

Mind you Transphobia is so ingrained in society that maybe acceptance is all they feel they can realistically achieve
