Yeah, Therion isn't really my sort of music either. Let's go with this, that I do like, from a band I don't:
When someone starts throwing Epica at me after what I've already said...well, I'm not a paranoid man but I find it extremely likely that you are trying to ruin my day and probably have planted a scorpion in my bed.
Easiest way to explain my thoughts here is that the music is cheesy pseudo-epic crap and the singer is alright, though prone to being melodramatic. As a general rule this style of vocals just doesn't work for me; I'm pretty sure every single female vocalist in metal whose work I really enjoy is one who does not try for this soaring, "operatic" approach (see the aforementioned Christian Mistress). Also this has nothing to do with the music but if I'm alluding to how other people think of Pantera I might as well talk about other fanbase views and say that I'm not sure why people seem to think she's so amazingly attractive.
