Remedy and Rockstar announced that they're going to be working on remakes of Max Payne 1 & 2. As long as Grove Street Games stays the fuck away from it, I'll have hope that it'll be good. I have fond memories of them, especially the first. I was real into manly badasses when I first played it in high school, and Max going on a one-man warpath against the mafia during an incredibly strong New York snowstorm at night, with no outdoor gear besides a leather jacket, was an awesome thing to me. The early 2000s models and environments that tried to look real only added to the appeal.

2 was unfortunately held back by my crappy PC, which chugged from the more detailed models and the physics engine. But, it did introduce me and many others to Poets of the Fall, so I'll always love it for that.
