The newest Borderlands game, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, is really good. The medieval fantasy world with modern firearms mixed in is a nice bit of creativity. A number of them are even altered to fire crossbow bolts. Magic spells take the place of grenades and are replenished with a cooldown. There's multiple types of melee weapons, though you can't equip them like guns, just use them with the usual melee button. There's now random crits in addition to the classic weak spot crit.

I'd definitely recommend keeping an eye out for Cloudburst spells with a "hold to charge" casting method. Those things are really powerful for a generic spell, hold multiple charges that replenish quickly, and can potentially hit multiple foes if they're relatively close together, especially if it crits.

There are some issues, though. The audio is too quiet, to the point you'll likely have to double your usual volume. Golden dice aren't marked on your map, despite being vital collectibles that permanently increase your drop rate. Some weapon types seem weaker than their counterparts from other games. Like, a purple Jakobs shotgun would be a decent deathbringer elsewhere, but not here.
