Thinking back to my post about characters in movie adaptations not having their iconic appearances, I realized that superhero movies seem exempt from this. Why do they get their iconic costumes right off the bat, but adaptations of other mediums don't? Even before The Dark Knight made comic movies popular, comic adaptations had their proper costumes. Well, aside from the early 2000s X-men movies, which gave everyone black bodysuits and made a joke about not giving everyone flashy costumes.

Why does the cheesy 2002 Spider-man get a proper costume (after a couple rough homemade ones), but the Uncharted movie doesn't give Sully his moustache and Hawaiian shirt until the post-credits scene? Even an incompetent dope like me could get those with $15 and a couple weeks of not shaving.
