And I kind of doubt Disney is punishing Pixar for creative decisions - from my limited outsider perspective there's a lot of signs they were trying to line up a critical and commercial hit. They've got an award winning producer, it's hyper-targeted to millennials as well as kids, flashy animation, and big name producers on the soundtrack who I literally did not know about until the credits rolled (Finneas aka Billie Eilish's brother producer and Gorrannson who is Gambino's producer and scores a lot of Disney's blockbusters).
