I'd also be fine if the weight was towards winning rather than losing (i.e. best team to miss the playoffs gets best odds) so that the emphasis was always to win. It's one of my biggest pet peeves in basketball that the lotto odds are weighted towards the worst teams and it's not like I'm a fan of a good team.
