Topic | The House in Fata Morgana is one of the best games I've ever played. |

I'm a fan of good visual novels etc, but I only ever saw it in a sale listen and kinda just skipped over it without really looking at it. What other stories/visual novels would you compare it to? I haven't read anything too niche, but some of the ones I liked were Higurashi/Umineko, Zero Escape, Steins;Gate etc In terms of gameplay, Steins;Gate is probably the closest. (Or Umineko, but I've never played that one) FM is pretty much pure novel with a few choices here and there. For the story and setting, it's a bit different than these, but tonally probably closest to SG as well. It takes itself very seriously and is really mature about its themes. There's not a lot of silly anime humor or anything and it doesn't really go off the rails with goofy sci-fi stuff like ZE can at times. It's a gothic mystery with heavy romance elements that are surprisingly well-written, and some horror elements. That's roughly the most that I can say without heavily spoiling it. I will say that, as someone who really likes VNs, Fata Morgana stood near the very top for me, and that's an opinion that I hear quite a bit. --- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuLC8xwj909sQrer5d8QUnw I make Fire Emblem videos.
