Did Skyrim not deserve critical acclaim despite all of its technical issues? Fallout New Vegas? Even games like Batman Arkham Asylum had a pretty significant bug that could erase your data at launch. Where do you draw the line? If youre going to call out Pokemon Legends Arceus, you have to do the same with every other critically acclaimed game that had issues on launch. Some far worse than Legends Arceus despite having far better reviews.

Technical issues should absolutely factor into a game's rating at launch. New Vegas is now one of my all-time favorite games nowadays, but its early bugs soured me towards the game on first playthrough to such a degree that I walked away from it with a very negative experience, and it's only by the grace of god (and my addiction to that particular brand of open-world games) that I was willing to give it another chance some time later.

It's fine to be optimistic that they're be improved, but backlash is necessary to compel the developer to actually fix the problems. And it's also absurd to handwave technical issues on the optimism that they might get patched / improved at a later time; a game being forgiven of past technical issues is great, but only after we've reached the point in time that they've actually been fixed.
