I don't want Pokemon games to come out bad, but playing monster sanctuary really made me realize how much wasted potential the franchise has. This is a game from one of Nintendo's biggest franchises being made by a company that had record profits in 2020. This should be the breath of the wild of Pokemon but it's skirting GameCube era quality. At this point, we are never going to see Pokemon implemented to its fullest potential if people continue to buy and praise games that are rocking early 2000s era game design. Given that the company seems perfectly comfortable riding that line, a series of large public failures is basically the only thing that can kick start the franchise into actually becoming what it deserves to be. --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz.
