She was killed at 2:20am in the 3900 block of White Avenue by 2 thieves in a "robbery gone bad" She was having car troubles and stopped at the side of the road as another man who was driving with her told her grieving husband that one of the robbers shot her in cold blood after she refused to hand over her valuables It's unclear what the relationship between the man and McCormick was but she was one of 6 people killed over the weekend It's also unclear how much was stolen or what valuables were taken and the police tells dailymail they can't disclose any of that information DoorDash employees are allowed to have passengers in the car but they can't make deliveries for them and are subject to a background check Her husband said "My guess is my wife can be stubborn and she wasn't going to give up her money and cellphone after working all those nights" He said his focus is now on his 3 kids who said "I have 3 kids, my 2 oldest are helping me out tremendously. I have a 19 y/o and he's in shock. And then, i have my brother in law, who's my left army and that's how we look at it" Her brother in law Mike Zellhoffer asks everyone to please be kind to someone who can give you nothing in return because that is the life Cheryl lived who had a heart of gold Her husband said he was married to her for 24 years but separated though stil lived together in the suburb of Nottingham and described her as a trained paralegal who was in between jobs and had 3 kids and a grandson who worked doordash to make extra money for the family.
