I feel America would go to shit in a different way. There would be a lot more human on human violence but with our affinity for guns I feel less of us would be boarded up hiding all the time.

Walmart would be warzones as it would be a good place to take a stand. Food clothes guns ammo melee weapons such as baseball bats among other things

We the still living would be our own biggest threat. Either through violence to steal others supplies or people getting infected and hiding it while remaining with their group of people

Other countries will have it rougher in the being able to move around safely department. They'll have to get creative on how to fight back

This all of course not considering the military just comes in and wipes them out.
