#25:

I remember listening to this last year and loving it, confused as to how I hadn't really given it any mind before. Still love it - it's a great "mood album" that has strong lyrical themes and amazing musical composition for its time. Like I still can't believe this is 1967. There are many good things going for it - the male/female harmonies, the innovation with instrumentation, the lyrics... the only song that is awful to listen to is the last one, because it goes on for WAY too long. This is one of those albums where last place is easier than first.

I decided upon my #1 and #11 pretty easily, but there are three tiers between them (2-5, 6-8, and 9-10) that are difficult to sort. There were slight variations between each of my three listens (well, save for that godawful last track). So here we go:

1. All Tomorrow's Parties
2. Sunday Morning
3. Heroin
4. Venus in Furs
5. I'm Waiting for the Man
6. Femme Fatale
7. I'll Be Your Mirror
8. There She Goes Again
9. The Black Angel's Death Song
10. Run Run Run
11. European Son

I'm surprised Spoonman ended up that low, it's my #1.

Also this. That was what I knew was gonna be my #1 if I had the mind to do it last week. I'm in a better place now, at least.
