1. Yeah, seems like there actually WAS a Speed Bump - there's a press photo from it with a giant green ball. That's really all they needed for the sake of parity, but it was oddly trimmed in the final edit. The eliminated team confirmed this, so that's good.

2. Lulu & Lala had a huge winner's edit moment with the "How's Grandma?" moment... only unlike JFP, it's actually true. Raquel & Cayla had the "we lost our jobs" thing but that didn't feel as grandiose and winnery. This was reinforced by Raquel/Cayla stating that they'd want Lulu and Lala to win if not themselves.

3. Sucks that they didn't briefly explain why the four teams didn't return. How much time would it have taken to have Caro say "We broke up." + Connie to say "I'd have loved to come back, but... I'm pregnant." + Taylor getting the call about his brother's passing + Anthony's work obligations? Source on that (and the Speed Bump) is here:
https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2022/01/amazing-race-33-why-teams-did-not-return/

4. And here I thought Akbar/Sheri were goners after that Roadblock disaster. That probably wasn't as damning as the show made it look, which made Phil's punchline all the better. These two aren't long for the race. They were this sluggish in the first two legs too. And... Sheri is doing the Switchback next week? What!? (That's the same dam from the opening stunt of GoldenEye, which was previously visited in TAR14.)

5. Arun/Natalia getting lost probably cost them 30+ minutes and may have been related to the Speed Bump. Michael/Moe getting last in the first leg AGAIN had to really sting hard. Surprised at the elimination, though. That's kind of cruel, since one would think that they'd need a couple more NELs.

I think they could've cut back like 20-30 seconds each from the run to the buses (they all arrived at the same time anyway), the Roadblock, and Detour to add another minute or two for the non-returning teams + the Speed Bump. But alas. Was still a pretty packed episode.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone here watch Australian Survivor? It's on Paramount Plus if you live in the states like me. I only watched one season but my impression is that its format is vastly superior to the US. Seasons are 24 episodes (almost twice as long) and episodes usually go for longer than an hour, excluding ads. It just helped me be so much more invested in all the players knowing so much more about each of them and their strategies.

Are we watching the same show? I felt like I know significantly less about Australian Survivor contestants' strategies because the editing only focuses on six people throughout the whole season and everyone else doesn't matter. The first two seasons were significantly better, but the rest of them weren't well edited. They show intro packages for people and then disregard them... and sometimes the "stars" repeat themselves five times in the same confessional because of how lazily they're spliced together to make an incoherent rant. Note how some people give a confessional from three different places. Huh?

And yes, you're supposed to spoiler tag anything international Survivor in here.
