I heard Virtual World is really good and not too hard to make, so once I get through some Solo content, Ill probably try and get that. Ill say that Ive barely played since the GX era, though Im aware of how Synchros and XYZ works. Less so the newer stuff.

Syncros are usually, have a tuner and other monsters add up to a certain rank and fuse. Later ones might require archetypes or a specific tuner or both but have support to get them to work.

Xyz is that but you stack two of the same rank (two 4 star monsters for instance) and the materials can be removed for effects. Usually once per turn though.

Pendulum is a nightmare for me still but basically, field rush with different rank pendulums.

Link is xyz but it can be any monsters. Only downside is no defense mode for them. But they get arrows that can trigger effects if monsters are in those spots. There's not many recursive combos surprisingly enough.
