The reason for them being there is just kind of something that the game leaves you to piece together: They're conversations between Michel & Morgana as he figures out that the story he's being told is total bullshit, and it's intended as an early hint that Door 4 is all lies. In the context of the plot as a whole, Morgana was trying to steer Michel away from reuniting with the (real) Giselle and from having both of them reclaim their true selves, because she had an affinity for him and wanted him to become more like her by cursing his family and staying in the mansion with her. Her primary goal at that point was likely to get Michel to accept that story, give up digging deeper, and stay in the mansion as Giselle remains The Maid.
It was neat, and I did kind of wish that the game did more with that, but it's understandable why it's only there within the context of the game.
I kinda suspected it was something like that; I guess my initial perception of it was a little too literal.
