The correct decision was made, but my was everything handled poorly by all parties. yeah my "support" of djokovic I alluded to earlier was mostly the fact that all of the exemption/subsequent drama is politically motivated / government flexing its "strong border" stance before an election he should've been denied at the outset. if the australian government had issues with the exemption, they should've handled it in a private way, not through sending him to a detention hotel and turning it into a huge thing. the whole situation has only galvanized anti vaccination sentiment at a time when Australia is actually loosening its lockdowns. I hate djokovic and think he's a huge piece of shit, but he was basically "made an example of" in a way that doesn't actually "fight covid." --- while you slept, the world changed ...
