Current Ranking:

  1. Silent Hill 2
  2. Persona 5: Royal (This ranking can largely apply to P5 as well, but Royal makes a TON of QoL improvements that just make it a better game from a gameplay perspective. The story is still solid, and honestly? If you stop playing Royal at the point where P5's story ends, and just watch P5's ending, you have a near-perfect RPG. P5R's additional story content doesn't quite land for me, and the ending is FAR worse and more unsatisfying. But still, the QoL stuff on top of an already-solid story from the original is more than good enough to rank highly.)
  3. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
  4. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
  5. Detroit: Become Human
  6. Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate
  7. Donkey Kong 64
  8. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (I love the franchise as a whole, but DR2 is definitely the one I think is the biggest mess. Part of the whole conceit of the plot makes everything random and chaotic, and it loses a lot of that grounding in reality that the rest of the series has. And as much as I enjoy the individual personalities of the characters, it feels like they're not a cohesive cast, which hurts the game compared to the other two entries of this style. Still, it's got a lot of the same positives as DR1 and 3, so that's gotta count for something, right? I just wish it didn't feel like the developers were super in love with their creation, ignoring its flaws. That's all.)
  9. Tetris
  10. The Bouncer (It's been so long since I played this, but I remember loving it, and loving the Square-Enix style beat 'em up energy it provided. I recall it having a simple leveling system too, which is always appreciated. So yeah, decent nomination here.)
  11. World of Warcraft (I played WoW for a LONG time before taking an extended break this expansion. WoW's problem is that it's extremely hot-or-cold. There are times when you're having a blast, leveling up, making characters. But then there are times when the game feels like a chore and a job, and you have no time to play secondary characters, because you need to stay up-to-date on the latest content. It's one of those games where it's fun as you're leveling up, but then you reach cap and you can very easily get bored. It doesn't help that I feel like the game has really started catering more to hardcore players than casuals, so like, you have dungeons that are only accessible via pre-made groups, or zones where everything scales to be more difficult, so you never get the sense of accomplishment from overleveling a zone anymore. It still has fun memories for me, but it's a rough game to enjoy.)
  12. Star Fox Adventures
  13. Final Fantasy X
