I think the point of the movie has been rather ironically lost on subsequent subgenerations of moviegoers. It's brimming with homages, self-awareness, commentary on the supernatural, quotable dialogue, and doesn't pull any punches on its cast even from the first 15 minutes of the movie. Scream is arguably the essential slasher film. yusiko posted... the first 2 seasons of scream tv show are really good the third season has a whole new cast and has nothing to do with seasons 1 and 2 and just wasnt as good but the tv show commented on how to work a slasher format in a tv show I haven't seen Season 3 yet.
