I loved it. Loved the character of Mirabel. Loved how they depicted familial conflict while still preserving the warmth these people feel for each other.
I also liked the music, despite not being as enamored of Lin-Manuel Miranda's compositions as many people. It is a worthy addition to the disney canon.

I can't believe she didn't go on a huge journey. I kept waiting on her to go on an epic quest to find the source.

The movie isn't about the source of the Madrigal magic, it is about Mirabel and the relationship she has with her family.
I am just so so sick of the 'arbitrary journey' subplot that gets shoehorned into like 80% of modern animated movies, I am glad they resisted the urge here.
