If the only way to solve the problem entails risking her life, then sure, risk her life to get the problem solved, but you seem to be approaching this with the mentality of "she deserved to die for this mistake," and that's just silly and rarely reflects the optimal solution. I'm coming from the angle that she should be willing to die to solve her mistake as she should be aware that she is fully responsible for the incident and the child deserves life more than her.
