When you have all this momentum rolling all of a sudden, I think you go for 2 here so you know what you still need to put up.

I'm a big fan of going for two in the down 9 points scenario most of the time to begin with.

There aren't a lot of scenarios where it significantly changes anything if you miss it in the first place.

I get it, particularly given it was a two play drive, both big plays, and you can hope you catch them shellshocked but personally I think I'd rather kick the PAT in this particular instance just to apply scoreboard pressure on the Vikings by making it a one score game. I actually think that plays into the momentum better by getting in their heads.

I generally try to evaluate these things on a case-by-case basis and I just felt PAT was the better move there given the flow of the game. It also happens to be the "conventional wisdom" call the NFL tends to live by so I was just taken by surprise that the Steelers departed from it there is all.
