There's a lot of experimentation going on here, and not all of it good. Some of the album's best bits, however, felt like they could have been on an excellent 16 bit game soundtrack. Unfortunately while that may have made this album revolutionary then, it makes it just seem weird now. I can see how this album could have been influential to a lot of artists, but there are so many instances where the choices they made just felt like they declared "challenge accepted" when no one challenged them to anything. A half-good listen.
