The thing I respect about Kay is that she manages to humanize Edgeworth in a way no one else can, which especially shows in E2-4. When it comes to people, he prefers to just pretend like he doesn't care, even when he does. It's easier for him that way. When it comes to Kay, he tries at first, and eventually finds out he can't. It's more than just being Edgeworth's "Maya" - Phoenix actually likes being around people. Edgeworth doesn't. Kay forces herself around him until he begins to care about her and reluctantly accepts he likes having her around.

It looks like Edgeworth goes all-out defending Simon in E2-2, in a twist of "Edgeworth is playing defense attorney again!", but it still pales in comparison to his defense of her in E2-4. He suddenly finds himself in a position where he'll put anything on the line for her sake and does so without the slightest hesitation.

It's a shame she nor Gumshoe never made any appearance in DD and SoJ because they flat out made Edgeworth a better person. It's a bit of a letdown that he evolved as a person over the course of those two games and he's so minor in DD/SoJ that basically just ignore it.

Speaking of that, rank E2-4.

Best Edgeworth case. Blaise is a great villain.
