LeonhartFour 12/02/21 11:20:41 PM #62: | I set my ATM card's number to "0001" because I'm number one! Trials & Tribulations - It's still the king of the series to me. Every case in the game is above average. It really fleshed out Mia's backstory and it was a very smart idea to give her an evil female rival in Dahlia. Edgeworth is used brilliantly in both 3-4 and 3-5. It was a perfect ending to Phoenix's story, and I would've been fine if they had actually ended his role in the series here as Takumi originally intended. He could've lived happily ever after with Iris, but alas, it was not meant to be. Phoenix and Edgeworth's Dynamic The Hair Flip Maya Fey Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Protagonist Miles Edgeworth The Golden Court (L-3) - I was not prepared for all the layers of this case (aside from Maya being accused of being a witch; everyone saw that coming). It tugs at your emotions in so many ways. It's one of my favorite endings to a non-epic case in the series because it invokes an uncommon trope (I think 5-6 is the only other time it happens). Everyone believes the case is solved, but Phoenix doesn't feel they've arrived at the complete truth yet and forces the trial to continue. It's a prime example of why Phoenix is the best lawyer. Cross-examining Animals Ladders vs. Stepladders Dhurke Sahdmadhi Psycho-Locks - One of my favorite understated running gags with Edgeworth is that he's terrible at remembering the names of non-human things, and Psycho-Locks is probably the most hilarious example. The first example was calling the Global Studios mascot Mrs. Monkey instead of Mr. Monkey. He also can't remember the name of Little Thief, the Alif Red Statue from E1-2, or Ponco in 5-5. There may be other examples, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head. The Herlock Sholmes "Logic and Reasoning Spectacular" Justice for All The Mood Matrix - I know there are some split opinions on the Mood Matrix, but I loved it. I thought it had great presentation, outstanding music, and it breathed some fresh air into cross-examinations without feeling too gimmicky. They use it to great effect in 5-5 both with Blackquill and the Phantom. Gregory Edgeworth Enoch Drebber Punished Apollo Ryutaro Naruhodo Kay Faraday - Because even Edgeworth needs a perky teenage assistant! Honestly, I was a little disappointed when she first appeared in E1-3 because I was hoping for a lot more Edgeworth/Gumshoe screen time with the AAI games, but they make it work. She manages to bring out a side of Edgeworth you don't see anywhere else, and that's really cool. Spirit Channeling - I know some people hate spirit channeling, but I always knew something exciting was going to happen whenever it made an appearance, so I was good with it. Mia is awesome, so she can show up whenever she wants. I do wish it had more diversity to it, so I was pleased with how they implemented it in 6-3. Investigation ~ Core 2001 I Can't Defeat Tree Man - I had never seen this video before, but I've always enjoyed the Phoenix Wrong stuff. While I appreciate the effort the guy put into writing the lyrics and singing them in tune to the song, I've gotta admit that my favorite part was pausing the video on the "boss select" screen and seeing that Lance Amano was listed as Galaxy Man. Herlock Sholmes Dancing Animations Daley Vigil/Gossip Robin Newman Believe me, any comic relief I may provide is entirely unintentional. Ini & Mimi Miney - I am terrible at seeing plot twists coming, but I also don't really try to guess what's going to happen because I enjoy being surprised. However, this one I saw coming from a mile away because you can't just casually drop the term "facial reconstruction surgery" without it being obvious what happened, at least to me. Sebastian Debeste Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Phoenix Wright 3-1 Phoenix's Shirt and What It Really Stands For Edgeworth's Cravat Dahlia's Constipation The Fact That Phoenix Once Tipped a Cow - This is such a random throwaway line (or half of a line because I'm pretty sure the Judge interrupts Phoenix before he can finish telling the story!). I have zero doubt that this line did not exist in the original Japanese version, and it speaks to just how brilliant the localization process for the series is. Peace, Love, and Understanding Juror No. 4 - So let's see...We had Typewriter Juror, Joan Garrideb, Quinby Altamont, Deaf Surgeon Juror, and Scientist Juror. Yeah, this might be the most consistent quality number for jurors between both games. Moe's Fresh Prince Reference Multiple Witnesses Mechanic - This actually started in Layton/Ace Attorney, so you should play that if you enjoyed it in Great Ace Attorney because I think Layton/AA used it better. In GAA, it's honestly pretty predictable. If I had to point out a flaw with GAA, it's that it's too easy, even by Ace Attorney standards and part of it is how formulaic the testimonies feel. Case 1s That Tease Dynamics in the Final Case The Adventure of the Great Departure (G1-1) I'm not sure I like you wagging your finger at me as though I were some hoser! No Game No Life Cornered Remix - I have never seen No Game No Life, so I'm sure this is great in context, like a lot of Ace Attorney music. As a standalone remix, it's fine, but I'm not the person to ask if you're wanting technical analysis because I'm not good at talking about music. Raiten Menimemo - Eh, he's fine, I guess. Shouting "Objection!" into the system's mic Logic Chess Phoenix/Edgeworth Ship - Phoenix/Iris forever. Seriously though, I get why people ship the two of them because it's a fantastic bromance, but it's not for me. I'm the boring guy who just rolls with the canon pairings. Venus 2-3's Murder Physics The Adventure of the Unbreakable Speckled Band (G1-2) - You look like I did after I mistakenly took a swig of Worcestershire sauce.
