I've seen people argue that "oh, what's the difference between this and mashing A a lot in random battles," and I respect that this a valid point, but I still prefer my exciting fantasy adventures to have some kind of player input. Like, was it FFXII where there's a bonus boss that takes 12 hours to beat, so you have to set up the gambit system and just walk away from the TV until it finally dies?
