kateee 10/31/21 12:01:16 AM #455: | thankfully i can just use the letterboxd/imdb genre tags although there were some discrepancies between the two. letterboxd lists Black Swan as Drama/Thriller/Horror but imdb doesn't include the horror tag. imdb has Under the Skin as Drama/Horror/Sci-Fi but letterboxd has it as Drama/Sci-Fi/Thriller. those are two of my favorite movies but i've never actually thought of Black Swan as a 'horror' and Under the Skin is definitely more of a horror film than it. genre stuff can get pretty wonky in the long run whatever. My list actually ended up looking pretty fucking solid in that they're all film I really like and doesn't have films I only slightly like taking up spots just because of the 'horror' tag like I thought it would. Under the Skin - absolutely my favorite for the time being. knowing how it was actually filmed and how it comes across in the performances is my favorite aspect of it. American Psycho - i love how every comment on the youtube video for "It's Hip to Be Square" is just an American Psycho reference Thirst - favorite vampire film One Cut of the Dead - i couldn't believe how good this was when i watched it. would have loved to recommend this too for the topic at some point. Funny Games - fuck Jennifer's Body - iconic Alien - it's Alien Psycho - it's Psycho mother! Shaun of the Dead i will cheat and say in case of alternates/genre wonkiness i could also see Climax, House or Frankenhooker in that list as well ... Copied to Clipboard! |
