| Snake5555555555 10/19/21 1:12:46 PM #238: | I watched VHS 94 last night, that was pretty awesome aside from the super, randomly cheesy ending where everyone just hams it up out of nowhere and rushes the conclusion. Every short was a hit for me though, really grindhouse-esque and a lot of fun gore effects. The aesthetic of this film is awesome, makes you feel dirty on the inside and outside for watching these taboo tapes. I particularly note the use of lighting and obstruction through all the shorts which really made events stand out for their claustrophobia and effective jump scares built up through atmosphere. I think this is pretty easily my favorite VHS film. --- I've decided to put my fears behind me. I'm not going back.
