It's not that silly to me. I got a Pro controller to use for my Switch Lite because I don't want the stupid thing to start drifting and I have to send the whole thing in to get fixed.

I'll use the D-Pad all the time for those games that'll allow it (older games, Disgea 5 lets you move around with either, etc).

For the Lite, that makes sense. Being built into the system makes drift much harder to resolve. For regular Joycons, though, I'm using ones that do drift while avoiding using ones that don't for the sake of making sure that I retain the option of using non-drifting ones in case I really need them some day. It's the controller equivalent of hoarding Elixirs.
