Marriage is itself a contract. Hence there's a formal legal process for ending it.

Moreover, where was all this "contract" talk when "your friend" was looking for validation for cheating on "his" wife? Why do you keep glossing over the fact that this effort to justify your actions didn't come up until long after you'd done the damage and spent several months trying (and hilariously failing) to defend yourself against people saying that you were the bad guy for cheating on your wife? Given that timeline, why do you expect any of us to believe that you actually followed that rationale when you chose to cheat on her instead of just being a horny, terrible person and latching onto it long after the fact because it's an easier explanation than actually accepting your guilt?
