but equating her ideals that haven't shaken to the acts of someone like Pelosi is bad-faith critique.
I'm not equating her ideals to the acts of someone like Pelosi. I'm saying that this Met Gala dress stunt makes her look like Pelosi kneeling in a photo op. Because she's happily rubbing elbows with, and legitimizing, the elite. She defends her actions by blaming it on some sort of official responsibility, but no one forced her to accept the invitation. Even more, no one forced her to wear a designer dress. If she really has to be there in an official capacity, nothing is stopping her from not playing along with the elite and actually just.. go there in an official capacity.

Her dress slogan stunt is like Pelosi's kneeling stunt because it's a hollow performance to liberals who are already on her side. She's not convincing anyone, and she's not pressuring anyone. The elite are happy to have her there!

I'll be happy to praise AOC when she does good things, but she's not exempt from criticism. This whole thing looks bad, and I can very well understand why people are annoyed by it.

Yeah I picked and pulled from that paragraph, because what she's dismissing legitimate critique of Biden as bad-faith, when again, he himself is the one who promised donors nothing would fundamentally change. And he's shown that by sticking with law enforcement, by reopening child detention centers, etc. It's great that AOC calls for the removal of some Fed director, but what happened to the causes of, say, abolishing ICE? Defunding the police? You know, big systemic changes that would disrupt the harmful status quo.
