Setting up pihole is just only more thing to bother with that I'd rather not when I can just install an ad blocker on our phones and computer quickly. Plus with my wireless access points and server plugged into the router, I don't have any free ethernet ports. Need to invest in a network switch eventually. No need to invest; if you're running that stuff out of your router, a cheap unmanaged switch will work fine to expand wired capacity. I can't imagine an eight port switch would cost much, even off a Best Buy shelf. I'm gonna probably get myself one for the Pi, I keep my mobile devices wireless but still prefer to hardwire whatever I can, so my modem is about all used up between my consoles and my TV. Gotta leave room for when I get my own file/media server working again, or just give in and upgrade to something modern lol ... Copied to Clipboard! |
