oh and although derek sherinian was in dream theater for a bit; he's only the keyboardist on one full album (Falling into Infinity), which does have a few cool songs that you can tell have his influence, but is actually pretty unrepresentative of the sound of dt and often cited as a low point (i've grown to like it tho, very specifically because elements he's confirmed to have written). he's also on the A Change of Seasons EP and uncredited-ly wrote a lot of Metropolis Pt. 2 even if he's not the keyboardist anymore there

not saying you won't like dream theater in general, but just pointing out that sherinian's influence is limited to those things if his presence there is why you're bringing it up
