Flynn's purpose in the story falls apart when he gets dragged into the dorky skits and victory quotes for the rest of the party, because he's no longer a shining paragon of excellence who still struggles to make real change happen by virtue of still being only one man. He's just a dude who's kind of uptight and stiff. I did at least find Flynn and Patty are both really fun in battle! Patty can be super broken but she's one of the few 'gambler' archetypes in gaming that I really enjoyed playing as. And Flynn only joins properly at the very end, so it didn't distract me much.
