Wizard World was already losing interest in having Comic Con in my town so I'd bet that's gone for good, and one of the locally based cons has shifted focus away from conventions for a while because it was a big money drain on them. (They're mainly a charity focused on child literacy through pop culture. I still like to volunteer with them every once in a while because I like the concept.) tbh, I've never been into cons. I could have got free tickets to NYCC years ago but then that would have entailed going to NYC, and... meh.
