It still is, because you might be reading/watching one of the MANY stories that deliberately subverts the trope and does the exact opposite.

You may suspect what's going to happen, but you don't know, and subversion of expectations is still possible. But it's different if I flat out tell you who lives, who dies, how they beat the aliens, and which character was secretly a leprechaun the entire time.

Yea, but at the same time if I'm watching a popular action movie about time traveling killer robots or something not know to be heavy on the subversions, is it really a spoiler? Where does the line exist between 'reasonable assumption' and 'spoiler'?
