Auto Modellista - Opaque Air very good song. in his writeup for my speedway nom in his VGM song ranking project, mycro was talking about how it's interesting how racing games in particular often seem to feature fusion or fusion-inspired music. this is definitely fusion but not the "ahhh i'm floating through the blue skies" kind of fusion (mycro likes to use this metaphor) that i associate with racing game music. this is more like "i'm chilling in the cocktail lounge bar of a cruise ship enjoying a nice mojito" kind of fusion, which is also a kind of fusion i love. i really like the fender rhodes-sounding keyboard solo. i love joe sample and this is a very joe sample-ish solo. they even do the typical smooth jazz "changing up the chord progression in the middle of the solo" thing that's in many of sample's solos. yeah, i should listen to the entire auto modellista soundtrack, as well as tons of other racing game soundtracks!
