The item in question is still missing - Mr Hicks' cell phone! And what nerd has it on a lanyard around his neck? I wonder if this was more common, even in 2009? I've never seen anyone do it, even in the days before widespread Bluetooth headset usage. Franziska calls the cell phone, and it rings in... Ms. Rhoda Teneiro's work locker in the flight attendants' room? It's all broken from the fall, but we see a camera...perhaps it still has some incriminating images in its memory. We transfer the photos to Franziska's working phone, and voila! An image of the cargo bay floor before the exchange in Zheng Fa. There are boxes labeled 'bedsheets' in English, and boxes labeled 'cloth' in Borginian [that would be unloaded in Zheng Fa]. As Cammy Meele is the only crew member who can read Borginian, it makes sense that she would have used this specifically to find some cloth to mop up the blood after Mr Hicks' death. Miles successfully pins it on Cammy Meele. She was afraid of being caught smuggling, she wasn't planning on killing Mr Hicks, but it still happened. Ms. Rhoda Teneiro expresses her gratitude by giving Edgeworth one of her designed suitcases. Edgeworth balks but ultimately 'would never reject a lady's generous offer' [which I'm sure is a line that gets referenced in fanfiction]. Franziska departs immediately, hot on the trail of a larger case, she says she has another agent to help her out, who she imagines we'll meet at some point. She claims to have no time for pleasantries, but really all she needs is Acceptance and Commitment therapy and a hug. Scratch that, several hugs. Gumshoe expresses his overwhelming joy at being able to be on a case with YOU again, SIR. Which is completely adorable. Edgeworth is barely able to bask in a glory of a case well solved when he receives a phone call - a Mr Ernest Amano, with terrible news that his son has been kidnapped! The Kidnapped Turnabout is next, with a Wolverine-looking character on the splash page. Wonder what that's about. Is that Lang? I don't know anything about him except for his name.
