Its all about personal perspective. If youre in good health and so are the people you care about are doing okay, you dont have much to worry about when it comes to something like the flu. That is valid.

But if you are like a lot of other people, either you yourself or people you care about and love are elderly, or very young, or recovering from surgery, battling cancer, or immune compromised from other conditions, then those low mortality statistics start to be less and less meaningful because diseases like the flu absolutely have a strong chance of being fatal to all the people in those positions. It is deadly to them and anyone that cares about them.
