Ignoring a user often does not stop harassment, it often emboldens the harasser and every time they see your posts they want to try to find a way to mess with you by either making alts or coming up with other creative ways to harass. Blocking though makes it so that they arent seeing your posts during their normal use of the board. You can just fade from their mind.
